Lettika is a series of handbuilt ceramic sculptures offering letterforms of a bespoke visual alphabet. From right angles to curves and diagonals, every layer responds to the layer below, and as the layers build, they create infinitely different geometries, which makes every sculpture of every letterform, truly one-of-a-kind. These ceramic sculptures are collaboration between Matt Blackwood and Csilla Csongvay. Designing the sculptures of the Lettika collection began by drawing hundreds of forms based on a common visual language: a curve, an arch, an angle and a straight. And then we created a visual framework for combining these elements in a way that allows each sculpture to be unique, while still visually connecting each sculpture to all other sculptures in the series.
